atlanta exes

Vh1 has did it again y’all! Another realty show is creeping out the shadows,  I know I know, but before yall go to sucking your teeth and rolling your eyes, VH1’s “Atlanta Exes” is a peek of the other side of the story: hurt ex wives whose famous and wealthy former husbands found happiness elsewhere and moved on without them.

Of course the show is a spinoff of the popular series “Hollywood Exes,” which is led by Nicole Murphy (ex-wife of Eddie Murphy), and the exes of other musicians, movie stars and athletes.

The Hollywood version has a lighter setting, with the cast being years removed from their former husbands; on the other hand the “Atlanta Exes” are still licking their wounds and their broken hearts.

These women once enjoyed the perks and privileges of being married to some of the most recognizable names in the entertainment business. Now, as entrepreneurs, mothers, and professionals, they rely on this unique sisterhood for support as they forge their own identities in the thriving music and entertainment capital of the South.

And of course this a chance for these women to tell their side and try to set the record straight.

The “Atlanta Exes” sisterhood includes:

Tameka Raymond:

You would be wise to think that Tameka Raymond, the ex-wife of the R & B king we know as Usher, spearheaded this whole idea. She’s been dying to share her side of the story for years, and now she finally gets the chance.

Tameka has long been characterized in the press as a vindictive ex who just won’t move on from her failed two-year marriage. The celebrity stylist has two sons with Usher — Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond. She tragically lost her son Kyle when he was accidentally hit by a Jet Ski last year.

Perhaps we’ll finally get to see Tameka in a positive light. I highly doubt but we will have to see for ourselves.

Monyetta Shaw:

Monyetta Shaw and Ne-Yo appeared to be a happily engaged couple — that is, until the Instagram post heard around the world. Ne-Yo put their marital problems on blast by announcing their break up in a cheaply designed notice for his thousands of followers to see. That was some Monkeyfoolishness he pulled.

The “Let Me Love You” singer said Monyetta will forever be his “partner” and “friend,” Ouch! He used the “F” word, but it was time to move on. They also have two children together, Madilyn Grace and Mason Evan.

Christina Johnson:

Christina Johnson and her ex-husband, singer and “The Voice” mentor CeeLo Green, might be the most mature exes out of the whole bunch. She stood by his side as he battled a sexual abuse charge, and she asks for his approval on choosing men to date.

PAUSE! She asked for his “approval”…. I guess. To each is own…..wont be my own.

CeeLo, the man who broke her heart, urges her to wait around for the right one. Control much? CeeLo… question is on whose term is Christian Johnson waiting for?

Their marriage read like the perfect love story — except it didn’t last.

Torrei Hart:

As comedians, Torrei and Kevin Hart shared the gift of laughter as well as two children — daughter Heaven Hart and son Hendrix Hart.

Torrei claims the relationship that Kevin has now with his girlfriend, Eniko Parrish, began as an affair. She struggles with allowing Kevin’s new girlfriend to take a stepmother role to their children.

Sheree Buchanan:

Along with being a former football wife, Sheree Buchanan is an all-out entrepreneur. She comes to the show juggling a number of businesses, including a dessert catering company, and she has a line of custom bedazzled hookah pipes.
