Of the many artists that inhabit the city limits of Miami, few have reached the status that Toro has. The man was an artist, an icon, and a hood legend. His passing has put a huge gap within the whole city. Toro practically put Miami on his back and wherever he were to go, he took the 305 with him. He was a major part of the pinnacle of the movement. Many industry execs have vouched for him, he was literally on the edge of stardom. If you ask anybody, they would tell you Toro was on his game, serious about his craft as he carried love for the music and his family deep within his heart. His personified character and swag gave him nobility and truth.

Toro’s death was untimely and we miss him dearly, his music will live on alongside his legacy. I was fortunate to have known him in this fanatical business. When I first began writing for 24hourhiphop.com as a rookie, he was the first artist to put trust in me in writing his interview, knowing that I was never heard of or even had any written material published, he allowed me to provide my first interview, I was more than thankful for that. As I knew him, I know he was filled with enthusiasm and major focus on his prospering career. No matter where I went, clubs, video shoots, shows, he was there, he was all over the place, he indulged the limelight and the respect. He was definitely ecstatic and content about the direction his music was heading as he expresses it here in one of his last interviews. I had the opportune chance to have interviewed him at the Iconz office as he was always there. This is an exclusive interview with the Legendary Hood Star, Toro.

24: So how’s everything with the infamous Toro since we last talked I know you’ve been doing a lot

Toro: You already know I’m out here doing my thing trying to get this money, doing these hot records staying in the streets keeping it true to the streets. Toro: Yeah sometimes, I go off of the beat and sometimes it’s my vibe however I’m feeling. I’m at a point now where you need me on your beats, producers need me on their tracks because it’s just hot like that, it just depends on how I’m feeling that day, not only just the beat, but my whole vibe I go off vibes you know everybody does their own thing.

24: So with this new album, what do you plan on incorporating into it as far as themes I know you have a lot to talk about, so let the world know who you are and express yourself ?

Author’s Personal Note:
I have never met anyone with the patience, endurance, and longevity that Toro possessed. No matter what mood he was in, he was always content and filled with laughter. To know Toro is to know a star, a hood celebrity, and everybody knew him, his grind was impeccable; he made sure the whole city knew his face, as he was literally everywhere. If there was a major event in the city, you were guaranteed to have seen him there. The way he built his image and his character was that of pure genius. He was a part of a lot of people lives and for that he will never be forgotten. Toro was a legend and legends never die. Rest in Peace Toro

I alongside the entire staff of 24hourhiphop.com send our deepest condolences to his friends and family during their time of mourning.
